Travel Style – Explorer / Expedition

Days Targeted – 12 nights & 13 days

Travel Season – May to July

So, we begin right from New Delhi and head for Shimla. Shimla is one the most popular hill stations in India with great British history. A day visit will be interesting covering the ridge and cathedral

Day 3 – Reach Sarahan (Shimla – Narkanda- Rampur – Sarahan)

Sarahan is a beautiful village , just 17 kms off the main road, adorned by impressive Bhimkali Temple that is 800 years old and gorgeous Shrikand peak views.

Day 4 & 5 – Explore Sangla (Sangla – Chitkul – Sangla)

We leave from Sarahan after morning breakfast and reach Sangla via Karcham. Enjoy the drive on the old Hindustan-Tibet road along Satluj river and spend the quite time at this serene place. Next day, take a nature walk inside village and visit Kamru Fort

Day 6 – Move to Kalpa

Kalpa offer amazing views of Kinner Kailash mountain range.The road leading to Kalpa has several bad patches resulting in increased travel time but it’s totally worth it. You will find out why once you reach Kalpa.

Enjoy short stay at the village and soak in some beauty

Day 7- Here we are at TABO!!! (Nako – Tabo)

The changing landscape from luxurious green Kinnaur into white desert of Spiti valley will mesmerize you and leave impressions that will stay with you forever. Driving along Satluj river to Khab (Spiti river meets the Satluj at Khab). From Khab we drive to Nako village and then to Tabo, the Ajanta of the Himalayas.  We will get to visit the oldest Buddhist Monastery constructed in 996 CE in Tabo village. The Tabo monastery is regarded by many as only next to the Tholing Gompa in Tibet. Tabo is the largest monastic complex of Spiti which has since been declared a protected monument under the aegis of Archaeological Survey of India.

Day 8 & 9 – Explore Kaza ( Dhankar – Pin Valley – Key Gompa – Kibber)

Kaza is presently the headquarters of Spiti sub division. We have allocated two days to Kaza as the places of interest Kaza that are imperative to cover are many:

• Dhankar Monastery and Kungri Monastery
• Pin Valley, home to the few surviving Buchen Lamas of the Nyingmapa sect of Buddhism
• The largest monastery in Spiti Valley – Ki Gompa (1008 CE)
• Kibber village and Gete, one of the most highest inhabited village

Day 10 – Soak in the beauty of Chandratal Lake

No words are enough to describe this wondrous lake inspiring awe. Well, lets just go and discover ourselves. It’s more thrilling as we will stay in tents / camps.

Day 11 & 12 – Manali

Here we are at another most loved hill station in India – Manali. We are planning to cover Vashisth hot springs, Manu temple, Jagatshukh and Solang Valley

Day 13 – Return to Delhi

We drive to Chandigarh and board a train to Delhi.
