Day 3 Exploring Colva Beach, the local Market and Margao

Colva Beach is one of those beaches in South Goa that get most swarmed. It’s comparatively closer to the Airport and quite happening too, since it gets so much of crowd all the time. So, if you’re in South Goa and wish to stay out late and enjoy the beach, Colva would be your first choice. All types of water sports facilities are available here. You just need to make a right pick. Here are some of the pictures 🙂 The sky literally turned so beautifully blue that I decided to use the caption – ‘The Blue Evening’!

There are number of eateries and food joints, shops selling varied stuff like Indian Tea, Spices, Jewelry etc. However, being in Delhi we have access to best of the markets and hence these markets didn’t appeal to us much but as a tourist the market is worth exploring. We were staying close to Betalbatim Beach, the place though not very far from Colva but seemed like a different world; except for the famous Martin’s Corner, the place was quiet with limited eating options. So comparatively Colva offered more as a package. There is local market at Colva which is a miniature version of flea market, one needs time to scout around shops to find something amazing. The collection is not really striking but it’s worth the effort for reasonable pricing (INR 100 – INR 400).

Margao – The Cultural Capital

Just 4 kms away from Colva is Margao, better known as the cultural capital. This part of the city feels like one of the metro cities of India, with host of branded and unorganized departmental stores well in place, this is the place to go if you want to indulge more in exploring the local cuisine, dine out, explore bakeries and / or buy vegetables or flowers or anything. While you drive around, enjoy the colorful houses, unique architecture and churches.
