“We Travel not to escape Life, but for Life not to escape US”
One fine evening enjoying a dainty snack relishing our travel pictures, the thought of compilation of all those special moments in form of stories crossed our minds. Just as we archive our pictures why not gather our travel stories, adventures and experiences too!!! And voila ‘Untraveled Routes’ came into existence.
We began exploring the Travel bug like any other amateur traveler, started traveling in conventional manner but soon realized that all places left you with the same feeling of being still trapped in the city life. Gradually we tried & began to explore untraveled routes, and contentment started flowing in and so did the love for travel and gaining new insights. It’s been almost 7 years. Yayy!!
We have different perspectives on travel & life on a whole; We are the Nonconformists and love being so.
We love to archive our travel stories and craft handmade albums too. We appreciate every tiny thing in our lives and feel blessed, our idea of having great time is getting involved in something simple yet unusual. We love nature and adore every aspect of it and therefore all our plans are designed in a manner to stay as close as possible to it and enjoy nature in its purest theme and form. We plan to highlight food, culture, festivals, adventure and everything incidental to Travel.
Just a little background here –
We both have majors in Finance (MBA) and a part of us has been working in the corporate world (the other bigger part is busy exploring!!!). Ashish has a decade of experience in Risk Advisory and Wealth Management & currently works as a Sr. Banker. Charu has 5+ years of experience as an Investment Banker. She also authors articles for Trak.in. Charu hails from Madhya Pradesh, later relocated to Ahmedabad, spent a brief period in Bangalore, then stayed in Mumbai for almost 8 years and currently is in New Delhi.
We are fitness enthusiasts, adore swimming, jogging and working out at the gym. We do keep track of nutrition as well; strongly believe in – Healthy body sustains healthy mind 🙂
We realized that the three C’s i.e. company, clients and our cubicle will never be able to match-up to the most imperative ‘C’ – CREATIVITY. We will also soon be caught up in the vicious corporate circle.
We just wanted more from life & have been on quest to explore & new ways of doing things; we have been highly involved in travel, photography, writing and all other interesting stuff that you’ll find here.
Untraveled Routes is aimed at helping avid travelers to discover and unravel travel treasures. Hope you have an amazing ride with us!!!
Cheerios 🙂
Hi Ashish & Charu. It is a pleasure to meet you and we are looking forward to walking with you on this journey and seeing the world through your eyes and words.

Oh my, Dhankar Gompa is gorgeous! Is it a working monastery, or is it abandoned?
Beautiful site!
Take care, be well, and happy travels,

Wonderful to meet you both and love your story. I have a bit of a wanderlust myself. From The Bahamas, lived in America for 4 years during my college years. Lived 6 months in Belgium before moving to Scotland. Have travelled around Europe and hopes to make around Asia at some point. So I’m looking forward to reading all about your travel journey.

Thanks for stopping at my blog – my travels these days are mostly around a perimeter path, taking in all the nature at this tiny nature nook in my City (at least until the snow flies … and I love your snowflakes drifting down as I’m typing this) … but my travels pale in comparison to yours and another blogger I recently started following (Ultimate Travel 8) … I’m going to subscribe and read more about what I am missing out there in the big world … I know there are many places to go and see and I will live it though your five senses … Linda

The one in boat ( called Shikara in Kashmir) is my favourite too, it’s glowing with natural smiles and emotions.
